free & unofficial study aid
Unofficial. Independent study help — not affiliated with or endorsed by the Home Office, GOV.UK or the Crown, and not a substitute for the official handbook.

About this site

A free, independent revision companion for people preparing for the UK citizenship knowledge test. Built to be clean, accurate, and genuinely useful — without logins, popups, or upsells.

This is an unofficial study aid. It is run privately and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Home Office, GOV.UK, the Crown, the publisher of the official handbook, or any government body. It does not replace the official handbook, and you can only book the real test via GOV.UK.

What this site is

It is a study help: a clickable timeline, an interactive map of where the key battles happened, and clear, structured notes on the people, places, nations and government you need to understand. The aim is to help you actually remember the material, not just drill questions.

What this site is not

Unofficial — restated plainly

To be completely clear: this is an independent project. No part of it is official, approved, or connected to the Home Office, GOV.UK or the Crown. Always study from the current official handbook and confirm the rules and book your test only on GOV.UK. Where anything here differs from the official materials, the official materials are correct.

How the content is written

All explanatory content on this site is independently written and researched in our own words. It is not copied from, paraphrased line by line from, or structured to imitate the official handbook. We design our own headings, order and explanations from independently cross-checked sources, because facts themselves are free to learn and teach even though a particular published wording is not.

Where the site presents detailed historical facts — for example the dates and outcomes of the key battles — those facts mirror an independently fact-verified reference set that was checked against multiple sources, so the underlying information is consistent and accurate while the presentation here is our own.

Where we re-use factual information published by the government, we attribute it as required; see the Image credits & attribution page for the Open Government Licence statement.

Privacy by design

There is no account, no login, and no tracking beyond what the site needs to function. We use a small amount of functional browser storage — mainly to remember your cookie choice — and that is not used for advertising or profiling. Optional advertising cookies are only ever set after you consent, and you can change that choice at any time using the “Change cookie choice” link in the footer. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
