1. About this site

This website (the "Site") is a free, independent, unofficial study resource for the United Kingdom's Life in the UK citizenship test, operated by S&N IT Support Services Ltd (the "Operator"), a private company registered in England and Wales under company number 13903376, registered office 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU. The Site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the Home Office, GOV.UK, the Crown, the publisher of the official handbook, or any other government or public body. The official handbook (Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents) and the official test (bookable only via GOV.UK) are the only authoritative sources. Where this Site differs from the official handbook, the official handbook is correct.

2. Acceptance

By accessing or using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may update these Terms from time to time; the date above shows when. Material changes will be flagged on the home page or via a banner for a reasonable period.

3. Permitted use

You may use the Site free of charge for your own personal, non-commercial study purposes. You may share links to pages on the Site with others. You may use a normal web browser to view the Site and may print pages for your own study use.

4. Prohibited use

You agree not to:

copy, scrape, mirror, or republish any substantial portion of the Site's content without our prior written permission;
use the Site or its content for commercial purposes (including in any paid course, app, or publication) without our prior written permission;
use the Site in any way that breaches any applicable UK or local law or regulation;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its server, related accounts, or any underlying systems;
use the Site to harass, defame, or harm any person or organisation;
misrepresent the Site, or any part of it, as official, government- endorsed, or as the official Life in the UK test;
use automated systems to extract data from the Site beyond standard search-engine indexing within the limits set by our robots.txt.

5. User submissions (contact form)

If you choose to submit a correction, comment, or other content via the contact form, you grant the Operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, adapt, and incorporate your submission for the purpose of improving the Site. You confirm that any submission you make is your own and does not infringe any third-party right. The Operator may, but is not obliged to, act on submissions, and is not required to publish or attribute them.

6. Intellectual property

All written content on the Site — other than image attributions and clearly-quoted third-party material — is original work created by the Operator without copying the official handbook's wording, structure, or test questions. The Operator reserves all rights in that content, subject to the permitted use above.
Images on the Site are reproduced under Public Domain, CC0, CC BY, or CC BY-SA licences; the author, licence, and source for each image are listed on the Image Credits page.
The Operator does not claim any rights in the official Life in the UK handbook, the official test, or any Home Office / GOV.UK / Crown material referenced on the Site.

7. Copyright and IP concerns — takedown procedure

If you believe that any content on the Site infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please send us a notice through our contact form, marking it clearly as a copyright notice and including the following:

a description of the work you say has been infringed;
the URL of the page on the Site where the alleged infringement appears;
your contact details (so we can respond);
a statement of your good-faith belief that the use is not authorised;
a statement that the information you have provided is accurate.

We will review every well-formed notice and respond within 14 days. Where a notice is well-founded, we will remove or modify the content promptly. We may decline to act on notices that are anonymous, vague, made in bad faith, or that do not meet the criteria above.

8. No warranty

The Site is provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator makes no representations or warranties — express or implied — about the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, reliability, suitability, or fitness for any particular purpose of any content on the Site, including the practice questions, explanations, dates, names, places, or any other factual content. The practice material is a study aid only; the official handbook is the authoritative source. The Operator does not promise or guarantee that using the Site will help you pass the official test. Nothing on the Site is legal, immigration, financial, or professional advice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and except where liability cannot be excluded or limited as a matter of English law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded):

the Operator is not liable for any loss or damage you may suffer as a result of using the Site or relying on any of its content, including any loss of opportunity, loss of time, exam result, or any indirect, special, or consequential loss;
where the Operator is liable to you in connection with the Site, the Operator's total aggregate liability is limited to one hundred pounds sterling (£100).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits your rights as a consumer under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, the UK General Data Protection Regulation, or other applicable consumer-protection law.

10. External links

Where the Site links to other websites — including GOV.UK and Wikimedia Commons — those sites are outside our control. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. A link does not imply any partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement in either direction.

11. Privacy and cookies

How we handle any personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy. How we use cookies (and which ones are essential versus optional) is set out in our Cookie Policy. At launch the Site shows no ads and sets no non-essential cookies; if that changes, an appropriate consent banner will appear before anything non-essential is set.

12. Suspension and changes to the Site

We may, at any time and without notice, change, suspend, or withdraw the Site (or any part of it). We will try not to do so without good reason, but the Site is provided on a best-efforts basis and we cannot guarantee continuous availability.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or your use of the Site, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute, except that — where applicable consumer-protection law permits — a consumer may also bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence.
